well made

The graphics are smooth and well made and I didn't run into any bugs. My only beef is with the control of the character. I also feel that controlling him is bit sluggish. You said you made him stop after a jump for the sake of realism? What's realistic about rocks floating in mid air :P. Your game isn't realistic, why take just one annoying feature from realism.

I dislike the fact that you go to 'climb mode' every time you are touching a ladder. Should rather make a separate button to climb ladders. Also I don't like that your jump height is so low. I understand that you did it so we have to move the rocks and then jump on them etc., but it just feels/looks bad that the character can barely jump 1cm in the air :P.

It's a well made game nonetheless, good job.

okay

The hitTesting is a bitty iffy. The ball may bounce to a weird direction, and it weirdly sometimes loses speed and can later on gain speed (when bouncing between two platforms). The corners of the platforms seem to be most trouble, the ball will bounce to a weird direction.
And another thing that bothered me was that the ball center is not launched where the cursor is. It launches the ball a bit off. That was bit annoying.

The game was overall okay, but the weird ball bouncing kinda took some of the charm away.

good idea

The game has potential. I think the biggest problem that is holding it down was that the game area is so small. You should do bigger parking lots with more cars and just a bigger area to move around. I felt really cramped in this game. Good thing I'm not claustrophobic :). Make a sequel that is bigger and better. This was a good start.

my review

Controlling mario was a nightmare. He speeds up like a rocket, slides like he has a pair of skates on and turns like he has a two ton weight strapped to his leg. Then you add the weird inconsistency of his jumps and the flip he starts doing kinda randomly. No surprise that I didn't get very far, and after a few equally frustrating tries I gave up on it. I suggest you improve a lot on the controlling of the character.

good

You've recreated a classic. I remember playing this game as a kid. Zero points for originality but it's a well made copy. Good job.

very good

Excellent mix of a brick smashing and puzzle game. I loved it. You got a hidden gem here. I'm surprised by the low score (3.17 at the time of writing). Don't be discouraged by it, this game is excellent. Hope to see more good games from you. Good job.

good but annoying

Your coding solutions make this game really frustrating. I'm specifically talking about the fact that you launch the frog down like a rocket when he hits his head to something. I gave up at lvl 28 cuz I just kept dying to that one fucking spot after you ride the two hawks. Really annoying, but when it wasn't annoying it was pretty good.

okay

I played this game up to level 22 and I felt like I was still playing tutorial levels. The puzzles are really simple and straightforward. I don't know if your target audience was very young kids, but as a gamer in his twenties, I didn't get any kicks from this game. It was pretty boring, sorry.

Skeik responds:

To be honest that was one of my concerns. I tried to spread most of the different puzzle elements in the game around, and make a slow learning curve, but in the end it didn't work out so well.

nah

The first one was good because it was a scrolling shooter. This sandbox style is way too familiar and done to perfection by other games already. You put your game now into too big league and it falls short. I wish you go back to the scrolling shooter style because there you rank good, but this style you rank ~average at best.

okay

Good idea. Now you only need to learn how to code.

I like the things I like.
